We are looking for candidates with a strong interest and aptitude in Industrial Design, 3D modeling and Design Engineering.
You have completed at least three years of an undergraduate industrial design or engineering program, or have recently finished your bachelor’s degree in industrial design or engineering.
You will be involved with many projects currently under development at Lucidream Design Canada.
The responsibilities cover all phases of product development, from brainstorming and evaluating product concepts through product development, sourcing, manufacturing and product delivery.
Solid conceptualization and brainstorming skills
Ability to produce quick sketches and freehand color renderings
Expertise with SolidWorks, Alias, Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, KeyShot
Understanding of Dreamweaver, HTML, WordPress
Engineering documentation standards
Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and tolerance analysis would be an asset
Manufacturing process documentation (assembly or test procedures, etc.)
Effective communication skills in English and French
Product specification development and analysis would be an asset
Shipping and packaging requirements
Supplier qualification and manufacturing liaison
Quotation preparation and analysis
Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) for both high and low volume products
Cost estimating and analysis, Bill-of-Material (BOM) preparation.
Cross-process design comparisons (tooling limitations, cost, lead times, etc)
Good understanding of Electrical Engineering
Electronic enclosure design considerations (thermal management, EMI, ESD, etc)
Understanding of electronics and software design
Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
Some familiarity with product qualification and agency requirements (UL, FCC, CE, FDA, etc.)
Knowledge of materials, advanced technology, and manufacturing a plus
